Because beer is third most consumed beverage and the most consumed alcohol drinks in the world, you should know is it good or bad for you. As with everything on our planet, beer also has pros and cons. If you don’t drink beer, there is no need to start drinking it now, just for the health benefits because you can satisfy your needs with food and other drinks.

The good sides.

Drinking beer in moderate amount (one beer a day for women and two for men) offers you certain benefits. Maybe the best benefit is that people who drink beer, live longer, of course, only if you don’t drink too much. Beer is all natural, it has no additives or preservatives. It is low on calories, carbs and it has no fat or cholesterol. Not only it doesn’t have cholesterol, it is good for your cholesterol levels. It can improve them. In some parts of the world, beer is safer to drink than water. Because it contains alcohol, it shouldn’t contain bacteria or germs. According to some studies, beer prevents heart attack and fights against cancer.

The drawbacks.

Beer contains calories, but it doesn’t have nutrients.  Beer isn’t good for your blood sugar levels. It interferes with the process of converting glycogen, so your brain thinks you are hungry, so you eat. You should avoid drinking the cold beer on a warm day. It is responsible for losing more fluids because you are sweating and you must visit the bathroom more often. Some people are sensitive to gluten. If you are one of them, you must avoid beer or drink only gluten-free beer.
